Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.)

History

Justice by Uniting in Creative Energy (J.U.i.C.E.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating unity between the diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles through hip hop. Since 2001, JUiCE has hosted and appeared at community events in which they provide a free platform for community artists of break dance, DJing, MCing, and art. The excitement and energy of a JUiCE event is contagious, immediately immersing the audience in hip hop culture.

Community

JUiCE can be found weekly at MacArthur Park, showcasing their talented dancers often accompanied by live drums and on-the-spot emcees. Graffiti artists showcase their talents on recycled pulp art boards and teach youth the basics of painting. The diversity of JUiCE participants reflects the unique draw of hip hop culture, translating human experience into lyrical verses and vibrant physicality. JUiCE creates an environment of positivity, friendly competition, support, and creativity that is infectious to community members of all ages.
